Our research on the Bishop Tuff was featured in the ABC 10 Sacramento (right), LA Times, Washington Post, Le Temps (French, Switzerland), Frankfurt General Newspaper (German), Epoch Times (Chinese), Phys.org, The Sheet, and West Hawaii Today. I also presented locally at the White Mountain Research Center.

Our research in the Casccades was feature on PBS’s NOVA. My supervisor at the USGS, Steve Ingebritsen, is interviewed and is representative of fieldwork. It was filmed at Paradise, Mt. Rainier.

Bay Area Scientists in Schools - Tectonics Outreach

Working with other Berkeley graduate students we used sandbox models to understand rheology and mountain building. We have presented at several underserved middle and elementary schools in Berkeley and Alameda. For more information go to the BASIS website.

Geology class in high schools

I have been the guest geology teacher at Island School (Hawaii) and Drew School (San Francisco.) High school students used hands-on models to answer questions about volcanoes and earthquakes.
